Spending Thanksgiving weekend in Toronto? HĒRA Night is taking over Harriet’s Rooftop on Sunday, October 11 for an afternoon-to-evening session above the city featuring UVITA.

Thanksgiving weekend is one of those rare moments when Toronto slows down just enough to enjoy it differently. There are dinners to plan, people visiting the city, an extra day away from work — and, for many of us, the question of what to do once the family plans are covered.

This year, HĒRA Night is spending Thanksgiving Sunday above Toronto.

From 3 PM to 10 PM on October 11, we return to Harriet’s Rooftop at 1 Hotel Toronto for a daytime session moving from afternoon into sunset and evening, with UVITA at the centre of the program.

For anyone looking for something different to do in Toronto over Thanksgiving weekend, this one is built around what we love most: a smaller setting, a carefully selected sound and enough time for the music to develop properly.

Meet UVITA

Irish-born and now based in Manchester, UVITA is a DJ and producer whose sound brings together elements of Melodic Techno and Afro-house, with melody playing a central role in his productions.

His relationship with music started early. According to his official artist biography, UVITA has been a musician since the age of three and began producing at sixteen. His background in classical music continues to influence the way he approaches electronic music today, combining evocative melodies with rhythm-driven club production.

His debut single, “Drop Your Weapons,” attracted support from names including Bedouin, WhoMadeWho, Desiree and Francis Mercier, helping introduce his solo sound to the wider electronic music scene.

UVITA, OSFUR and The Scripture

An important part of UVITA’s recent work has developed alongside producer OSFUR.

Together they created The Scripture — a project that extends across their collaborative music, record label and community.

One of the releases that pushed the project further into international attention was “Permission To Move,” released through Magnifik Music.

The track combines a driving rhythm with warm bass, powerful synths and prominent string elements. Magnifik Music notes that it became one of the most requested IDs from Keinemusik’s 2025 Zamna Tulum showcase, with further support coming from artists including Adriatique, WhoMadeWho, Arodes, GORDO, Fideles and Moojo.

It is a good introduction to the side of UVITA’s music that interests us most at HĒRA: melodic without losing its weight on the dancefloor, and atmospheric without becoming passive.

From “Permission To Move” to AGAMA

UVITA and OSFUR continued developing The Scripture with the AGAMA EP, released on Human By Default, Bedouin’s record label.

The two-track project features “AGAMA” and “AREA 3344.”

Where “Permission To Move” carries a more expansive, anthemic energy, the AGAMA project moves into deeper territory — hypnotic rhythms, brooding basslines, organic percussion and atmospheric melodic elements.

That balance between melody and rhythm runs throughout UVITA’s work and is one of the reasons his sound can move naturally between Afro-influenced music, melodic electronic production and more driving club moments.

The collaboration continued with “No Way Out,” released through Madorasindahouse Records, while UVITA’s 2026 catalogue also includes “Self Control” alongside OSFUR and Lampetee on Crosstown Rebels.

Why UVITA for a Toronto rooftop?

A daytime rooftop asks something slightly different from an artist.

The music has to work before the room is dark. It has to carry an afternoon, respond to sunset and still have somewhere deeper to go as the evening develops.

That is part of what makes UVITA an interesting fit for this HĒRA session.

His productions sit between melodic progression and percussion-led energy, giving us room to build the day gradually rather than treating the event like a traditional late-night club show.

Following his previous Toronto appearance, October 11 brings him back to the city in a very different environment: an intimate rooftop overlooking downtown, with seven hours to move from daytime sounds into the evening.

Looking for Thanksgiving weekend plans in Toronto?

Toronto has plenty happening over the Thanksgiving long weekend, but if your ideal Sunday involves music rather than another formal dinner, this is our contribution to the weekend.

The session begins at 3 PM, leaving plenty of the day ahead, and continues through sunset until 10 PM.

Whether you live in Toronto, have friends visiting for the long weekend, or are simply searching for things to do in Toronto this Thanksgiving weekend, the idea is simple: spend the afternoon above the city, stay for sunset, and let the music take care of the rest.
